Position Title: Configuration Manager

POSITION SUMMARY
We are seeking a Configuration Manager to be responsible for managing the configuration and release management processes for software applications for a key program with the Department of Veterans Affairs. This role involves coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure that configurations are effectively controlled and align with the company's strategic objectives. This requires a proactive individual with a passion for process optimization and quality assurance.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain configuration management processes and procedures
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and define project scope
- Ensure configurations are accurately documented and maintained
- Oversee the release management process and ensure timely delivery of software updates
- Coordinate with development teams to implement configuration changes
- Maintain version control and ensure traceability of configurations
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 3+ years of experience in configuration management or a related role
- Oversee Quality Assurance of all Requests for Change (RFCs) and similar change documents at all stages of the system and software development cycle
- Lead the development and maintenance of baselines and configuration control procedures
- Conduct change and configuration management at the enterprise, program, project and segment levels for systems, services, and capabilities developed using traditional and agile methods
- Identify and implement opportunities in terms of process and tools to execute CM in a more agile and efficient manner
WORKING CONDITIONS
Standard Business hours are Monday through Friday. Occasional extended or weekend hours may be required based on operational needs. Must have reliable internet service that allows for effective telecommuting.
