Job Description

The Plant Manager will report to the Production Manager and will be responsible for the day-to-day operations and function of the Meadville Plant.  Individual will oversee all aspects of concrete plant manufacturing including, but not limited to:  dispatch, production analysis, inventory and scheduling of raw materials, equipment oversight (maintenance and troubleshooting) and personnel management.

 

Key functions and tasks required in this position:

 

  • Positively supervise redi-mix truck drivers, loader operators, mechanics and plant personnel to ensure they are being used effectively and efficiently to complete customer orders, meet customer needs and maintain delivery schedules
  • Responsible for quality control of redi-mix concrete in accordance with PennDOT and ACI Guidelines
  • Individual shall be well versed in dispatch and batching systems – able to diagnose issues, set-up mix designs, manage loading of trucks for peak efficiency of plant, enter customer information, including directions and special requests
  • Maintain and monitor batch sequence, fleet maintenance and reliability and overall appearance of the facility including batch office, plant and yard.
  • Ensure all plant calibrations and certifications are completed as required
  • Ability to problem solve and maintain composure and a high level of professionalism when under pressure
  • Provide disciplinary action to employees as may be needed and make decisions regarding hiring/termination of personnel.
  • A commitment to team concepts and ability to build effective relationships with internal personnel and external customers
  • Conduct the necessary safety meetings and ensure employees are following all company safety policies
  • Must work extended hours and irregular schedules, including Saturdays
