About This Role:

The Prince William County Criminal Justice Services is an Evidence-Based Practices Agency and a fast-paced, growing, family-style organization that promotes public safety. We strive to reduce victimization, break the cycle of crime, and contribute to community restoration by incorporating the use of Evidence Based Practices into our supervision of pretrial and probation clients. We are currently seeking a highly motivated individual with exceptional interpersonal skills for a career opportunity for a Probation/Pretrial Manager. The candidate for this position will manage the day-to-day operations of an agency division and serve as the team leader, mentoring/coaching, and staff trainer. Other duties include providing quality assurance by conducting periodic case reviews that involve reviewing staff's use of risk assessments, development and oversight of case plans, and general case management of pretrial and probation cases.  This position also pulls and interprets information from several Criminal Justice databases and assists other team leaders in compiling performance-measure data for the agency and staff. The candidate will also support, assist, and collaborate with other managers within the agency and stakeholders in our community, as well as across the state.

This position will require the incumbent to work non-standard hours, including overnights and weekends.


Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or G.E.D and 7 years of experience related to probation/pretrial services.


Preferences:

The successful candidate will have at minimum, a Bachelor's degree in criminology, psychology, social services, counseling or a related field and 7 years of experience related to probation/pretrial services. Experience in the supervision of clients in the community, case management, conducting risk assessments, and making referrals based upon identified needs.  Strong customer service skills, making presentations, and a demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally are a plus. Experience completing pretrial and probation risk assessments such as the PSA, PSLP, and Offender Screening Tool (OST).  Experience in collaborating with clients in the development and oversight of case plans.   The ability to conduct case reviews, evaluate others’ work, and provide and receive feedback is preferred.  The ability to extract information from multiple criminal justice database systems, collaborating with multiple criminal justice, judicial agencies, and other community stakeholders within Prince William County or the Virginia Criminal Justice System, is also highly desired.


Special Requirements:

Background check. Some overnight travel. 


Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday typically between 8 am and 5 pm with one evening staying as late as 7pm or later when attending stakeholder meetings, etc. This is a telework eligible role that may revert to in-office scheduling if business needs change.

*Please note, positions in our Intensive Community Supervision Program (ICS), require on-call and weekend duty on a rotating basis which requires work beyond normal business hours including evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.


Starting Salary Range

$91,162.50 - $121,836.00 annually
