Hutchinson Public Schools has multiple Summer Cook positions for the summer of 2026.    

The Cook will assist the Cook Lead with food preparation, production, service of meals, sanitation and other duties related to school nutrition programs. The Cook also maintains food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition. Positions are available at the Middle School and Park Elementary. 

The salary range for this position is $18.67 per hour - $21.57 per hour. Salary is dependent upon education and experience. Benefits include retirement plan with employer contribution.   

Schedule/Hours: 

• 06/08/2026 - 08/14/2026
• Monday - Thursday, hours per day may vary

Position Responsibilities:

• Assists in food preparation, production, service of meals, sanitation and other duties related to school nutrition programs.
• Maintains food service facilities in a clean and sanitary condition.

Qualifications: 

• Food service and culinary experience is preferred, but not required to perform the variety of duties related to school nutrition.
• Cashier and computer experience is preferred in this position.
• Customer service skills are essential to this position.
• Ability to work with others as a team is required as teamwork is crucial to the efficiency of the kitchens.
• Hold Food Protection Manager License preferred but can work towards once hired
