Job Title: Director of Nursing (DON) – Home Health
Location: Brandon, FL (Tampa Area)

Job Summary:
The Director of Nursing (DON) is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and supervision of home health clinical services. This role ensures the delivery of high-quality patient care, regulatory compliance, and achievement of clinical and operational goals. The DON leads and develops clinical staff, oversees patient care delivery, and supports the Administrator in managing day-to-day operations of the agency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Direct and coordinate all patient care services provided by clinical staff
- Provide leadership and oversight in assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including Medicare guidelines
- Review patient charts, clinical documentation, and staff activity reports to ensure quality and compliance
- Monitor clinical outcomes and implement performance improvement initiatives
- Lead, manage, train, and develop nursing and clinical staff
- Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards of care
- Collaborate with the Administrator to achieve agency goals and operational objectives
- Participate in leadership meetings and support organizational initiatives
- Serve as acting Administrator in their absence, as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct supervision of RNs, LPNs, and clinical support staff
- Responsible for hiring, onboarding, performance management, and staff development
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels to meet patient care needs
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Florida
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or related healthcare field preferred
- Minimum 2–4 years of healthcare experience, including leadership or supervisory experience in home health or a related field
- Strong knowledge of Medicare regulations, OASIS documentation, and home health operations

- Ability to analyze data and drive clinical performance improvements
- Proficiency in EMR systems and clinical documentation
Additional Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to travel within the service area as needed
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Work is performed in both office and patient home settings
- Regular travel within the community is required
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, and occasionally lift up to 10 pounds
