Responsibilities:
• Ensures that the facilities daily activities operate smoothly and efficiently
• Hiring & training key facility staff members
• Monitor and review reports to ensure employees are meeting performance standards
• Create procedures to improve safety, quality, and productivity
• Responsible for all elements of facility operations to include plant safety
• Establish production schedules and ensuring productivity
• Work to motivate employees to accomplish production targets
• Develop & implement daily and long-term operations strategy
• Provide technical guidance to staff members
• Allocate resources wisely and fully utilize assets to achieve best results
• Create and manage budgets
• Create reports for key production areas and procedures to distribute to executives
• Ensure team members have a strong sense of direction and focus
• Develop a trusted relationship with employees
Experience and Skill Requirements:
• Extensive understanding of operational planning
• 10 years hands-on experience formulating and implementing plans, strategies, resource allocations and budgeting
• Well-versed in Health, Safety and Environmental laws governing hazardous waste recycling
• Problem solving abilities
• Computer literacy
• Communication and personnel management skills
• Organization skills
• Conflict management skills
Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
• Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
• Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds occasionally.
• Must be able to ascend and descend ladders, scaffolds, stairs, and work in confined spaces and in proximity to loud equipment.
• Must be able to respond quickly to sounds.
• Must be able to work in cold/hot environments and on concrete floors.
• Balancing: Maintaining body equilibrium to prevent falling when walking, standing, or crouching on narrow, slippery, or erratically moving surfaces.
• Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.
• The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor vehicles or heavy equipment.
Working Conditions:
• The worker is required to function in narrow aisles or passageways.
• The worker is subject to atmospheric conditions: One or more of the following conditions that affect the respiratory system: Fumes, odors, dust, mist, gases, or poor ventilation.
• The worker is subject to fluids: There is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other fluids
• The worker is required to wear a respirator.
• The worker is subject to both environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside.
