Design & Construction
Job Summary
Manages the design and construction of all SMHCS renovation and new construction projects as assigned and directed by the Construction Superintendent or Director. Estimates, schedules, procure materials, manage subcontractors, negotiate contracts, manage architects, manages general contractor, and coordinates construction activities with the other hospital departments.
Required Qualifications
- Require a minimum two (2) years of experience in the management of institutional, industrial, or commercial construction projects to include knowledge of institutional construction means, methods, and materials.
- Require an Associate degree in Construction. Four (4) years of relevant experience in the management of construction related projects will substitute for the required degree.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prefer demonstrated knowledge and ability to implement construction estimating, scheduling, and cost accounting techniques.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to perform project budget monitoring and scheduling.
- Prefer demonstrated technical writing ability.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to speak in public and conduct presentations.
- Prefer demonstrated contract negotiating skills.
- Prefer demonstrated ability to interact and interface with all levels of staff and management.

A D: Associate's Degree
Preferred Education
BD: Bachelor Degree
