Job Overview:

Operations Specialist I is a systems-based support role within the fulfillment operation. This position supports department leadership by helping coordinate daily activity, guiding employees, monitoring department performance, and using reports/data to identify opportunities for improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance and direction to department employees during daily operations
  • Monitor employee output, order flow, department progress, and operational performance
  • Use operational reports, system data, and labor tools to identify trends, gaps, and follow-up needs.
  • Prepare and review daily, weekly, and monthly reporting related to output, accuracy, labor usage, and department results.
  • Communicate performance updates, concerns, and operational needs to department leadership
  • Reinforce SOPs, safety expectations, quality standards, and performance requirements
  • Assist with coaching conversations, employee follow-up, and escalation of performance concerns when needed
  • Support shift start-up, work assignments, labor movement, and department adjustments
  • Help identify process issues and recommend practical improvements based on data and floor observations
  • Participate in root cause analysis and corrective action follow-up
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by supervisor/manager

Specific Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience providing work direction or guidance to hourly employees preferred
  • Experience using warehouse systems, reporting tools, labor reports, or operational tracking systems
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review data and identify performance trends
  • Strong professional communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong follow-up, organization, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and operational reporting preferred
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced fulfillment center environment

Preferred Education and Experience :

  • Minimum of 4 years of consecutive experience with coordination/lead support in logistics, warehouse, fulfillment, or similar operations
  • High school diploma or equivalent; some college or technical training preferred
  • Maintain a professional and visible presence in the department
  • Support employees while partnering with department leadership
  • Use data and reporting to support better operational decisions
  • Follow through on assignments, reporting, and employee-related follow-up
  • Support a culture of safety, accountability, efficiency, and respect
