Position Summary
The Development Coordinator supports the organization’s fundraising, grant management, and administrative operations. This role manages the grant process from research to reporting, assists with donor engagement, and provides administrative support to ensure smooth departmental operations. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and passionate about advancing the organization’s mission through effective resource development.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
Grant Coordination
- Research and identify new public and private funding opportunities.
- Maintain a grants calendar with deadlines for proposals, renewals, and reports.
- Assist in writing, editing and submitting grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and related documents.
- Collect, analyze, and organize program data for grant applications and reports.
- Collaborate with program and finance teams to ensure compliance with grant requirements.
- Monitor grant-funded activities and track expenditures in coordination with finance.
Development Support
- Assist with donor database management, including accurate entry and timely acknowledgments.
- Help prepare donor communications, newsletters, and event materials.
- Support the planning and execution of fundraising campaigns and special events.
- Prepare progress reports and fundraising performance summaries for leadership.
Administrative Duties
- Schedule meetings, prepare agendas, and take minutes for development-related meetings.
- Maintain organized physical and digital filing systems for development and grants.
- Coordinate logistics for events, site visits, and presentations.
- Process incoming and outgoing correspondence for the development team.
- Work with program managers to gather information, success stories, and performance data.
- Assist in budget tracking, invoice processing, and purchasing as related to development activities.
Qualifications
- Associates degree in nonprofit management, communications, public administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1-2 years of experience in development, grant writing, or nonprofit administration.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High attention to detail with strong organizational and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and donor database software (e.g., Bloomerang, Salesforce).
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

· Must have the ability to move about the office to access files and office equipment.
· Must have access to reliable transportation for occasional travel for meetings at other HAP office locations, events, and offsite meetings.
· Occasional moving or lifting of boxes or files up to twenty pounds.
· Able to focus on data, analyze the information and draw conclusions.
· Frequent interactions with coworkers and participants requiring the ability to communicate effectively.
· Frequent communication via email requiring ability to fluently read and write in English.
· Frequent preparation and analysis of figures.
Compensation & Benefits
Pay Range $24.04 to $28.85
