Sales Manager

Reports To: General Manager

Position Summary

The Sales Manager is responsible for developing and implementing sales strategies to maintain and increase our market share in the assigned division and territory. This role focuses on building and maintaining strong partnerships with contractors, builders, and other industry professionals. The role is responsible for leading a team of outside sales representatives to the success of the assigned division and territory. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute sales strategies to meet and exceed revenue and margin goals. 
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of outside sales representatives. 
  • Actively prospect and generate new business opportunities within assigned territory. 

· Analyze market trends and competitor activities to identify new opportunities.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key accounts and industry partners.

· Monitor sales performance and prepare regular reporting for executive leadership. 

· Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

· Active participation in various new home builder and remodeling organizations. 

  • Oversee the preparation and presentations of quotes, bids, and proposals for lumber and building materials.      
  • Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and pricing strategies. 
  • Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally. 
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, pipeline, and forecasts in tracking systems. 


Requirements

  

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of sales leadership experience (building materials or construction industry preferred) 
  • Proven ability to manage and grow a multi-million-dollar sales portfolio. 
  • Strong knowledge of lumber, building materials, or construction processes. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills 
  • Initiative-taking with strong organizational and time management abilities 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful sales strategies that drive both revenue and profitability. 
  • Strong financial acumen and experience in budget management and forecasting.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing sales team.
  • Advanced negotiation and closing skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a variety of customers.
  • Ability to resolve conflict and manage difficult conversations. 
  • Proficiency with BisTrack, WMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel.
