- Plans and participates in various phases of the grant management process, such as the application, monitoring, and budgeting of funds to ensure rules and regulations are followed.
- Provides technical assistance to other agency staff in proposing projects and developing legal and financial support documents to ensure guidelines and deadlines are met.
- Reviews statutes, rules, and regulations associated with agency projects to determine their application to fiscal and grants management practices.
- Plans audit procedures and reviews budgets to ensure the efficient use of funds; recommends appropriate fiscal corrections or changes for consideration by the project manager.
- Monitors payments to grant providers/recipients to ensure the proper allocation/distribution of funds.
- Oversees and coordinates the development of contracts and other mechanisms used by project managers to manage state and federal aid funds.
- Participates in site reviews to examine compliance with appropriate statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Prepares special reports as requested by agency management to monitor grants and to examine compliance with appropriate statutes, rules, and regulations.
- Coordinates the agency’s fixed asset process by maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Completes payroll reconciliation and verification processes by reviewing payroll reports for accuracy.
Requirements/Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in grants management, business administration, public administration, accounting, budgeting, OR related fiscal field, and four years experience in grant management, contract administration, accounting, budgeting, OR other fiscal related areas of work. Additional years of experience in the area listed may substitute for the required education, on a year-for-year basis.
Preferred Qualifications: JD Edwards/E1 software experience, Supervisory experience, Microsoft Office including Excel experience, and Government Accounting experience.
Other: Applicant accepting a job offer must pass the following pre-employment exams in this order: medical exam and, at a randomly announced time, pass a drug test. Once at the Staff Training Academy, must successfully complete the fully paid NE Corrections Training Program. Valid driver’s license required.
