    Job Title:                     Business Education Instructor

     

    Purpose:                      To teach students in any business education subject area; to provide students a role model; to help students discover abilities and develop them for use in life; to give students knowledge of the field and an appreciation (cognitive and affective).

     

    Responsible to:           Building Principal

     

    Supervises:                  

     

    Qualifications:

     

    1.         College Degree

     

    2.         Certification in business education

     

    3.         Possibly work experience in field

     

    4.         Knowledgeable in area of business

     

    5.         Understanding of current trends in business

     

    6.         Desire to work with young people

     

    Essential Functions:

     

    Physical Requirements/Environmental Conditions:

     

    General responsibilities:

     

    1.         Maintain discipline within the classroom to allow for a good learning environment.

     

    2.         Maintain student records:  attendance, grades, etc.

     

    3.         Provide students with up-to-date information in subject area.

     

    4.         Give encouragement to students and others.

     

    5.         Supervise all students during passing and open time.

     

    6.         Explain subject matter, provide learning activities, and answer questions.

     

    7.         Encourage students to participate in class.

     

    8.         Establish goals and objectives for each class.

     

    9.         Serve as a role model for students.

     

    10.        Keep parents and public informed.

     

    11.        Demonstrate a caring and cooperative spirit to faculty.

     

    12.        Respond in a sharing of ideas with administration, working together to support the general purpose of the school.

    13.        Willingness and flexibility to adopt new teaching strategies into their classroom.

     

    14.        Prepare students for local, state, and national summative assessments.

     

     

    Term of Employment:              As per negotiated teacher agreement

     

    Payment Rate:                          According to Certified Salary Schedule

     

    Evaluation:                               Performance effectiveness will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board of Education Policy of Certified Personnel.
