The Hydraulic Mechanic is responsible for performing inspections and repairs on hydraulic equipment in all areas onboard.
Qualification requirements:
Experience:
5+ years' experience on offshore drilling units as a Hydraulic Mechanic
Certified Mechanic including an approved apprenticeship
5+ years of experience working with IFS.
Certification Requirements:
BOSIET CA EBS
Confined Space - Entry and Attendant Course Certificate
STCW Security Awareness
Additional Skills:
Computer literate
Conversant with safety management system
Good verbal and written English skills
Knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic circuits, components and principles of fluid power needed
Responsibility:
Specific tasks include, but are not limited to the below.
- Perform other work as directed
- Emergency responsibilities as per station bill
Responsible for:
- Carrying out inspections, repairs and maintenance of the hydraulic installations and equipment
- Monitoring the condition of hydraulic parts of the drilling equipment
- Implementation of outstanding recommendations from equipment audits by customer, class or management
- Carry out periodic maintenance according to the planned maintenance guidelines and coordinate same with supervisors and other departments
- Maintain equipment manuals, service reports and advise supervisor on condition of equipment and spare parts availability
- Order new spare parts and maintain an adequate stock of spares in order to fulfil maintenance requirements
- Carry out assigned tasks in a safe manner following company policies and procedures
- Daily cleaning and housekeeping in workshops and other areas
Participate in:
- Other relevant maintenance tasks
- Department safety meeting and technical meetings as directed by supervisor
- On-The-Job training of drilling crew
