Summary:

Responsible for corporate logistics activities on national and local levels.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, accountability, and operational excellence across all logistics functions.
  • Develop and execute corporate logistics strategies, such as TIVE, that support operational goals, enhance service performance, and drive cost‑reduction initiatives.
  • Analyze transportation and logistics data to identify opportunities that streamline operations, improve efficiency, and reduce overall freight costs.
  • Lead initiatives to improve delivery performance, reduce operational risks, and enhance overall supply chain efficiency.
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally with Accounting, Procurement, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to align logistics activities with business objectives.
  • Standardize logistics processes across all locations to ensure consistency, compliance, and operational efficiency; identify process gaps and implement corrective improvements.
  • Develop and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and cost‑saving programs, partnering with plant locations and carriers to ensure freight spend stays within budgeted targets.
  • Prepare and present logistics performance reports to senior leadership, highlighting trends, issues, and improvement actions.
  • Lead monthly and quarterly freight review meetings with plant leadership to align performance expectations, resolve issues, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage FTL, LTL, and small‑package transportation operations, ensuring service reliability, optimized routing, and cost control.
  • Ensure compliance with DOT, OSHA, and all regulatory requirements by overseeing freight documentation accuracy, proper record retention, and coordination with plant teams.
  • Manage relationships with carriers, brokers, and third‑party logistics providers, while building strong partnerships with internal stakeholders and plant operations.
  • Negotiate and manage carrier contracts, rates, service levels, and long‑term agreements to secure optimal pricing, reliability, and performance.
  • Provide guidance, training, auditing, and ongoing support to the plants to ensure consistent execution of logistics procedures and corporate standards.
  • Monitor carrier performance using KPIs and develop logistics performance reports that support informed, data‑driven decision‑making.
  • Oversee import and export logistics, coordinating with customs partners and regulatory agencies to ensure compliant, timely cross‑border movements and accurate documentation.
  • Coordinate domestic and international machinery moves, ensuring appropriate planning, carrier selection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Manage the freight claims process and oversee freight‑related credits to ensure accuracy, timely resolution, and improved transportation performance.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support operational needs, business objectives, and continuous improvement initiatives.
