Surveyor – Heavy Civils

Position Summary

The ideal candidate would be a skilled layout professional with a strong understanding of construction phases and processes who enjoys working on active construction sites, providing accurate and timely site layouts for complex and high-profile projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who thrives in a dynamic, hands-on environment and is looking to contribute to projects with a company that values integrity, collaboration, and excellence. This role involves working closely with project managers, engineers, and contractors while also being able to work independently to ensure projects are completed to exact specifications and on schedule.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct site surveys using a variety of instruments.
  • Perform high-accuracy layout. 
  • Operate Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GNSS Receivers with SiteWorks field software.
  • Utilize Trimble and Autodesk office software packages.
  • Provide precise measurements for foundations, structures, and utilities.
  • Monitor and record site progress, verifying that construction work aligns with design plans.
  • Maintain and calibrate survey instruments and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors and engineers to ensure accurate implementation of survey data.

Requirements

  • Strong mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, when working alongside all levels of management, co-workers, vendors and clients
  • Experience with Trimble data collection software & surveying equipment
  • Proficient with MS office software
  • Experience with CAD software (Autodesk, Trimble) preferred
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret civil plans and specifications
  • Must be a motivated self-starter, team player with the desire to learn and advance
  • Must be able to work in outdoor environments, including prolonged walking and standing on uneven terrain and variable weather conditions
