OVERVIEW:

The Assistant Director of Admissions plays a key role in advancing Kent Denver School’s enrollment goals through student recruitment, evaluation, and family engagement, with a particular focus on admissions communications and marketing efforts. This position partners closely with the Associate Head of School for Program and the Admissions team to manage applicant pipelines, represent the school to prospective families, and ensure a cohesive, mission-aligned admissions message across platforms and touchpoints.

The Assistant Director of Admissions serves as a visible ambassador of the school, contributes to strategic admissions initiatives, and supports the full admissions cycle from inquiry through enrollment.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Admission & Enrollment

  • Interview prospective Middle and Upper School applicants and families

  • Review applications and participate in Admissions Committee deliberations

  • Support applicant evaluation and enrollment decision-making processes

  • Manage assigned applicant caseloads from inquiry through enrollment

Events & Outreach

  • Support and attend admissions events, including open houses, visit days, fairs, and receptions

  • Assist with accepted student events and yield-focused initiatives

  • Represent the school at off-campus admissions events as needed

Office & Team Support

  • Collaborate with Admissions colleagues on workflow planning and seasonal priorities

  • Support accurate admissions recordkeeping and database management

  • Assist with administrative tasks and special projects as assigned

Teaching / Advising / Coaching (as needed)

  • May include responsibilities related to teaching, student advising, or coaching, depending on school needs and candidate expertise

Other

  • Other duties as assigned to support the school’s admission and enrollment efforts

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required

  • Experience in admissions, education, or a related field preferred

  • Experience working in an independent school environment is a plus

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to build rapport with students and families

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Comfort working in a fast-paced, cyclical admissions environment

  • Strong judgment and discretion when working with confidential information

  • Proficiency with databases, scheduling tools, and office technology


Instructional Support Summer Work & Availability

Although Instructional Support employees do not report regularly during Summer Break, they are expected to work the first and last full weeks of the summer period and remain reasonably responsive to school communications (including email and voicemail) throughout the summer, generally within one business day unless otherwise arranged in advance with their supervisor. Certain positions may require ongoing responsibilities during this time, and employees are responsible for completing job-related work as needed and staying in communication with their supervisor.


Start Date:

August 1, 2026


Salary Range:

The annual salary range is approximately $68,000 - $89,000 depending on experience and qualifications.
