    LENGTH OF WORK YEAR: 240 Days
     
    POSITION SUMMARY: Provide consulting services on complex issues to member districts involving independent judgment and discretion in the area of federal and state Accountability, School Improvement, and federal programs. Be informed and engaged in the areas of Compliance and Accountability, as well as contribute to the overall performance and culture of ESC 17.  The specialist will work directly with district and campus leadership to coordinate, adapt, and ensure the implementation of instructional leadership practices. 
      
    POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
                EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION/LICENSE: Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in area related to position
                PREFERRED: Valid principal or mid-management certificate preferred
                EXPERIENCE: Minimum of five years of related job experience
                SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS: In-depth knowledge of instructional leadership practices that lead to improved teaching and learning; knowledge of district practices that impede as well as empower leadership; the accountability system and the necessary actions and measurable progress required to meet federal and state standards
     
    DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES: 1 - Support districts and campuses in understanding and complying with state and federal accountability requirements, including the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). 2 - Conduct implementation support for principal supervisors and/or principals as they implement SI practices by engaging in campus visits, reviewing implementation artifacts, and providing timely feedback. 3 - Guide district and campus leadership teams by connecting them with capacity builders based on need as the result of Effective Schools Framework (ESF) diagnostics. 4 - Support districts in developing tailored systems and tools to ensure fidelity of best practice implementation. 5 - Provide technical assistance and services as specified by any applicable grant that funds this position
     
    REPORTS TO: Coordinator of Continuous Improvement & Accountability
    MINIMUM SALARY: $81,750
