Job Description

Job Summary:

The Director of Finance is a key member of the management team responsible for overseeing the finance and accouning functions of the company. This leadership role works to ensure the financial health of the organization, aligning financial planning with the brand's strategic goals. This position will manage internal controls and provide financial insight to support growth and profitability in a fast-paced fashion environment.

Essential Duties:

  • Lead all aspects of financial planning, forecasting, and budgeting for the organization.
  • Oversee cash flow, working capital management, and financial risk mitigation.
  • Manage Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Credit and Collections.
  • Analyze financial performance and provide executive leadership with strategic recommendations.
  • Prepare and present monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
  • Ensure the accuracy of accounting records and compliance with GAAP, tax regulations, and industry standards.
  • Manage audits, tax filings, and banking relationships.
  • Implement and maintain strong internal controls and financial policies.
  • Oversee employee benefits, payroll, and regulatory compliance.
  • Establish and manage administrative systems that support scalable growth.
  • Collaborate with design, production, sales, and logistics teams to align financial planning with business operations.
  • Support supply chain and inventory costing, product margin analysis, and vendor negotiations.
  • Evaluate capital expenditures and make data-driven investment recommendations.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, efficiency, and strategic thinking.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of finance/accounting experience, ideally in fashion, apparel, or consumer goods.
  • Deep understanding of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis in a retail or wholesale environment.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in ERP/accounting systems Sage, A2000, Bloomberg Tax, and Excel.

  • Familiarity with inventory management, supply chain finance, and cost accounting in fashion production.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to sit and work at a computer for extended periods.
  • Occasional travel to company locations, vendor meetings, or financial presentations.
  • Ability to lift or move financial records or equipment (up to 15 lbs), if necessary.
