Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY: The Performance Hall Manager assists the Theatre Department by managing and maintaining the student laboratory theatre.
This is a 9-month graduate position. This position is only available to graduate students attending BJU.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ticket distribution for Performance Hall productions
  • Managing the house at performances of Performance Hall productions
  • Scheduling and maintenance of student theatre space, classroom, backstage areas and shop
  • Transportation of production related items for student productions
  • Assistance as needed with student production elements such as sets, props, costumes, lighting, audio.
  • Supervision of student theatre work in the Performance Hall areas

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Familiarity with theatre production practices
  • Basic knowledge of shop tools including table saw, mitre saw, band saw and hand tools
  • Basic computer skills. Facility with e-mail groups, calendars such as Microsoft Exchange
  • Ability to collaborate with others in a theatre environment
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to frequently bend, handle/finger, reach outward, reach above shoulder, sit, stand, and walk
  • Ability to frequently lift/carry up 20 lbs, occasionally up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to frequently push/pull up to 25 lbs., occasionally up to 100 lbs.
