Job Summary: 



The MRI Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures in an outpatient setting, ensuring patient safety, comfort, and compliance with established imaging protocols. This position requires technical expertise, strong communication skills, and a commitment to delivering compassionate, patient-centered care. 



Key Responsibilities: 





  • Operate MRI scanners to produce diagnostic images for interpretation by radiologists. 







  • Verify patient identification, review exam requisitions, and confirm appropriate imaging protocols. 







  • Prepare and position patients for MRI exams, ensuring safety and comfort throughout the procedure. 







  • Administer contrast agents per physician orders and institutional protocols. 







  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions or discomfort during scans. 







  • Maintain detailed records of procedures and patient information in the PACS/RIS system. 







  • Follow all MRI safety policies, including screening of patients, staff, and visitors for contraindications. 







  • Regularly inspect equipment for proper function; report any technical issues promptly. 







  • Collaborate effectively with radiologists, technologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate, timely imaging results. 







  • Participate in continuing education to maintain certification and stay current on imaging technology advancements. 





Qualifications: 





  • Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Radiologic Technology or equivalent. 







  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist or MRI program. 







  • Current ARRT (MR) certification or eligibility required; ARRT (R) preferred. 







  • Active state licensure (if applicable). 







  • BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required. 







  • Minimum 1–2 years of MRI experience preferred; new graduates with strong clinical training will be considered. 







  • Knowledge of MRI safety standards, protocols, and equipment operation required.
