    Workday/Year:  Monday-Friday; 7:30-3:30

    About Zumbro Education DistrictZED is an education district serving six member districts that include  Byron, Blooming Prairie, Hayfield, Kasson-Mantorville, Stewartville, and Triton.  ZED offers a wide array of general education and special education services to our member districts (please refer to www.zumbroed.org for details). ZED has been in existence for over 30 years and is located in Kasson (MN) which is 16 miles away from the city of Rochester (MN). ZED opened a new 61,000 sq. ft. building in 2022.   

    Job Summary:  The Physical Education Teacher is responsible for planning and implementing physical education activities, monitoring students, and evaluating student outcomes. Physical Education generally emphasizes sports-related skills, movement patterns, games, and fitness activities. Additionally in the DAPE role, he/she will provide special education instruction  for students that includes development of physical fitness, motor fitness, fundamental motor skills and patterns, individual and group games and sports. The teacher will participate in and conduct portions of the evaluations and observations to determine special education eligibility of students placed in the program and conduct periodic assessments to determine educational progress of the students. The teacher will assist in developing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives and participates in IEP meetings for students in the program. **Candidates with DAPE licensure will be given preference, but those with a physcial education (PE) licensure will be considered as well.  The Physical Education Teacher records and maintains student information. He/she is responsible for communicating with all parties involved in the education of the student.
    Required Qualifications:  Valid Physical Education license in the state of Minnesota. Also have or are willing to get Developmental Adaptative Physical Education (DAPE) license in the state of Minnesota.
