Qualifications:     

Active PA Social Studies 7-12 certification is required.

Bachelor's and/or Master's in Education is required.

Description:

The School District of Springfield Township is seeking candidates who possess excellent interpersonal skills, the desire to work with energetic students, and the ability to relate well within the school community. In our STHS Social Studies Department, members are expected to:

  • Create instructional spaces that highlight student discussion, advocacy and critique.
  • Construct frequent opportunities for student collaboration and discourse.
  • Utilize relevant local, regional and global events to promote authentic learning and personal connections within course content.
  • Plan, prepare, and deliver standards-based instruction in alignment with our Profile of a Graduate.
  • Design learning experiences which meet the diverse needs and learning styles of all students.
  • Assess student progress through a variety of formative and summative assessments.
  • Create a positive, structured, and safe classroom environment that supports academic and social-emotional learning.
  • Maintain accurate records of student attendance, grades, and performance.
  • Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities.
  • Participate in professional development, faculty meetings, and school events.

Terms of employment:     

Full-time, contracted position to be determined in accordance with the terms and conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.  Position to begin August 24, 2026. Please note that induction will take place the week of August 17th.
