Position: Director of Maintenance
Location: Hempstead, NY
Schedule: Full-Time
Salary: $85,000 – $90,000 annually

Nassau Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is seeking a skilled and dependable Director of Maintenance to lead and oversee all facility maintenance operations. This role is essential in ensuring a safe, functional, and well-maintained environment for our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform and oversee routine maintenance and repairs on equipment, machinery, and facility structures

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve maintenance issues

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests across departments, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems

  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and implement effective solutions

  • Fabricate or modify parts as needed to support repairs and maintenance

  • Maintain accurate records of all maintenance activities using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment

  • Supervise maintenance operations and ensure all tasks are completed efficiently and thoroughly

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas upon completion of tasks

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or facility setting

  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems

  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and blueprints

  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to complete tasks from start to finish

  • Ability to follow direction and work collaboratively with leadership
