Job Description

Facility: Staten Island Care Center
Position: Cook – Full-Time
Location: Staten Island, NY
Shift: 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
Salary: $25.17 per hour

Staten Island Care Center is seeking a dedicated Cook to join our culinary team! The ideal candidate will prepare and serve meals in accordance with planned menus while ensuring high-quality, nutritious, and appetizing meals for our residents.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meals according to planned menus, portion control procedures, and therapeutic diet requirements.

  • Ensure all meals are palatable, visually appealing, and served on time.

  • Follow standardized recipes and accommodate special diet orders.

  • Provide meal substitutions and bedtime snacks as needed.

  • Maintain proper food handling, storage, and sanitation procedures.

  • Assist with food preparation for special events and celebrations.

Requirements:

  • At least 1 year of experience in food service, preferably in a hospital, nursing home, or healthcare setting (not required).

  • Knowledge of food preparation techniques and safety regulations.

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work in a team-oriented environment.
