Looking for a part-time Nurse Practitioner in Gillette, WY to conduct compensation and disability exams for military members, wounded warriors and veterans.
Position Summary
The Practitioner will review pertinent medical history documentation and conduct one-time, non-treatment Compensation and Pension (C&P) examinations for Veterans. During the examination, the Practitioner will capture responses using a web-based examination platform. All documentation is completed electronically, and completed examinations are submitted to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) for disability award determinations.

Part-time 1day/week
between Monday - Wednesday 0800 – 1700 (Clinic prefers Wednesday)
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
· Conduct one-time, non-treatment examinations related to a Veteran’s disability claim.
· Review the Veteran’s medical history, including an abstract highlighting relevant aspects of the claim.
· Utilize medical history documentation and Veteran responses to complete Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQs) within a web-based system.
· Ensure accurate, timely, and complete electronic documentation.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications – Required
· Master’s degree from an accredited university in a Nurse Practitioner program.
· Minimum of two (2) years of clinical experience in any healthcare setting.
· Current, unrestricted state license in the state where practicing.
· Highly organized, self-directed professional with the ability to work in a high-volume environment.
· Strong verbal and written communication skills.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office applications and strong technical aptitude.
· Computer proficient; EMR experience preferred but not required.
· Previous VA or compensation examination experience preferred but not required.

· Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
· Understanding of applicable policies and procedures.
Physical Demands
The position is primarily sedentary, with occasional standing or walking. The role requires the ability to access files, supplies, and equipment as needed and may involve moving light equipment or supplies.
Work Environment
The work environment is generally favorable, with adequate lighting and temperature and minimal exposure to hazardous or unpleasant conditions. The position may be subject to frequent interruptions.
