Key Requirements and Qualifications

• Certification: Valid Louisiana Teaching Certificate in Secondary Science (Grades 6�12) in accordance with Louisiana Department of Education guidelines (Bulletin 746).
• Education: Bachelor's degree (minimum) in Science, Secondary Education, or a related field (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Environmental Science).
• Experience: 2+ years of teaching experience is frequently preferred.
• Content Knowledge: In-depth understanding of Louisiana Student Standards for Science, including life science, physical science, earth and space science, and scientific inquiry, as well as curriculum implementation.
• Skills: Strong written and oral communication skills; effective classroom management; ability to facilitate hands-on, inquiry-based instruction; and ability to use data-driven instruction to improve student achievement.
