Your job:
- Conduct applied research in machine learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, and related areas relevant to industrial automation
- Prototype, test, and evaluate novel AI algorithms rapidly, ensuring feasibility for real-world deployment
- Publish and present research results in leading conferences and journals while contributing to Festo’s internal knowledge base
- Collaborate closely with engineering, embedded AI, and software teams to transfer research into practical, scalable applications
- Work with global and academic partners to advance research collaborations and maintain research excellence
- Benchmark and validate AI models through experiments, simulations, and real-world datasets, ensuring robustness and performance
- Contribute to fast-turnaround prototypes that demonstrate business value and support short time-to-market cycles
Your qualification:
- Master’s or PhD in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field
- Proven experience conducting applied research, ideally supported by peer-reviewed publications
- Strong programming skills in Python and experience with ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow
- Experience translating theoretical research into practical, scalable solutions or prototypes
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work in a collaborative, cross-functional environment
