Food Production Facility experience is required!

Position Summary: Performs routine and advanced facilities and equipment maintenance within a food production environment, ensuring all machinery and building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food‑safety standards. Responsibilities include troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment such as packaging lines, grinders, conveyors, mixers, and automated processing machinery. Work must meet established service, quality, sanitation, and safety standards required in regulated food manufacturing operations.

What you’ll do:

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

  • Install, inspect, troubleshoot, and repair food‑grade mechanical equipment, including packaging machines, grinders, sealers, conveyors, pumps, and motors.
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) following OEM guidelines and facility SOPs to minimize downtime.
  • Diagnose mechanical failures using hand tools, measurement devices, and basic diagnostic equipment.
  • Replace worn or damaged components such as bearings, belts, chains, seals, and pneumatic parts.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and parts usage records.

Food Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with GMPs, HACCP, SQF, and facility sanitation standards.
  • Follow proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to maintain a safe work environment.
  • Support sanitation teams by ensuring equipment is accessible and safe for cleaning.
  • Assist in maintaining facility compliance with FDA, USDA, and internal audit requirements.

Facility Maintenance

  • Assist with general building upkeep including painting, drywall repair, carpentry, fixture installation, and minor plumbing or electrical tasks.
  • Support facility improvement projects, equipment installations, and layout changes.
  • Move materials, equipment, or furniture as needed to support operations.

 

 

 

About You:

  • 3–5 years of maintenance experience in a food production facility or similar regulated manufacturing environment.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Understanding the unique requirements of food manufacturing, including sanitation standards, allergen controls, and contamination prevention.
  • Proficient in multiple maintenance competencies such as mechanical repair, basic electrical troubleshooting, pneumatics, hydraulics, and equipment alignment.
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, and SOPs.
  • Work independently, manage your time effectively, and communicate clearly with production and quality teams.
