VP Strategy – Energy & Utilities [Onsite]

Location: Europe (preference for Oslo, Stockholm, Berlin or London)

Shape the Future of Energy & Utilities

Hansen (ASX: HSN) is a global provider of mission‑critical software and services to the energy, water, and communications industries. With over 600 customers in more than 80 countries, we help organisations modernise revenue management, customer engagement, and core operational processes — balancing today’s realities with tomorrow’s opportunities.

We are now seeking a VP Strategy – Energy & Utilities to define and drive Hansen’s global Energy & Utilities strategy, shaping our long‑term product direction and market position at a time of profound industry transformation.

The Opportunity

This is a senior, high‑impact strategy role with genuine influence across product, technology, sales, and executive leadership.

You will own the Energy & Utilities vertical strategy globally, with a particular focus on Europe, developing a clear 3–5 year market point‑of‑view and translating major industry shifts — including regulation, decarbonisation, customer experience expectations, and cloud/SaaS adoption — into a pragmatic, investable roadmap.

Working in close partnership with the Global President, Energy & Utilities, the Chief Product Officer, and senior Product, R&D, and Delivery leaders, you will ensure Hansen’s product investments remain differentiated, coherent, and aligned to evolving global Utility needs.

Your Impact

  • Define the strategic narrative for Hansen’s Energy & Utilities business globally, but with a key focus on Europe
  • Translate market insight into product direction, investment priorities, and executable roadmaps
  • Act as a trusted industry voice, building deep C‑suite relationships across utilities, partners, and ecosystems
  • Enable go‑to‑market success, shaping value propositions, strategic bids, and growth initiatives
  • Bridge strategy and execution, ensuring ideas convert into real, delivered outcomes for customers

Key Responsibilities

European (& Global) Market & Competitive Intelligence

  • Maintain a deep, current understanding of European (and global) Energy & Utilities trends, regulation, and investment drivers
  • Interpret competitive dynamics and partner ecosystems, translating insight into strategic advantage

Vertical Strategy & Long‑Term Product Direction

  • Own Hansen’s Energy & Utilities strategic point‑of‑view and longer‑term product direction (3–5 year horizon)
  • Act as custodian of product investment priorities alongside Product, Technology, and Delivery leaders
  • Balance near‑term customer needs with longer‑term strategic bets

Strategy to Roadmap Translation

  • Shape coherent strategic programs that Product and R&D teams can plan, prioritise, and deliver
  • Lead structured customer engagement (advisory boards, co‑development, workshops) to validate and refine direction

Go‑to‑Market Enablement & Growth

  • Articulate strategic differentiation internally across Sales, Marketing, and Account teams
  • Support complex bids, pricing strategies, and strategic growth initiatives
  • Contribute to M&A assessments aligned to our global Energy & Utilities strategy, particularly across Europe

Industry Thought Leadership

  • Build and maintain a strong reputation as a trusted Energy & Utilities thought leader
  • Represent Hansen at industry events, conferences, and executive forums

About You

You are a credible industry strategist with a strong product, technology, or consulting background, comfortable operating at board and C‑suite level.

You bring:

  • Deep experience in Energy & Utilities, ideally within the European market, but even better if you have broader, global expertise
  • A track record of shaping product or platform strategy in complex enterprise environments
  • Strong understanding of cloud, SaaS, and PaaS business models
  • The ability to influence across global executive teams, product leaders, and commercial stakeholders
  • A consultative, relationship‑driven style with strong communication and presentation skills

Experience with CIS, MDMS, CRM platforms, and additional European language capability is advantageous.

Why Join Hansen?

  • Influence the strategic direction of a global Energy & Utilities portfolio
  • Operate at the intersection of industry transformation, technology, and product innovation
  • Work with a leadership team that values pragmatic progress over hype
  • Join a business with strong values, long‑term customers, and global scale
