About the Role:

VU TAFE is seeking sessional trainers within the Cyber Security & Digital Technologies Department to teach in our exciting new Datacentre Academy. Candidates should demonstrate current industry experience as:

  • Datacentre Technician, or
  • IT network or systems administrator, or
  • Critical infrastructure technician

 

Position Key Duties:

  • Reviewing and becoming familiar with provided learning & assessment resources so that you can competently deliver classes on campus at Footscray Nicholson campus.
  • Delivering training in our Datacentre Technician and/or Critical Environment Technician course using curriculum prepared in collaboration with Microsoft and other industry partners.
  • Assisting students to prepare for CompTIA A+ and/or Server + certification exams
  • Administering competency-based assessment and student evaluation, and
  • Supervising students during off-campus practical activities

 

 Position Details

  • Salary: Teaching $98.34 per hour/ Non-Teaching $68.29 per hour
  • Employment Type: Sessional
  • Location: Footscray Nicholson campus

 

About You: 

Our teaching team is looking for someone:

  • Who possesses or is willing to obtain Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110, TAE40116 or TAE40122 or can provide proof of enrolment in TAE40122)
  • With a qualification within the Information & Communications Technology, Electrotechnology or Plumbing
  • With current Employee Working with Children Check or be able to obtain
  • With a minimum of 5 years industry experience to be able to bring your knowledge and experience to the classroom
  • With excellent communication skills and “can do” attitude
  • With relevant skills in Microsoft office, databases and record keeping
  • Available a minimum of 4 days per week (and evenings for online classes if required)
