Schedule:



5-15 hours per week on assigned shifts. Working hours will fall in between 8am to 4pm.



Salary/Wage Range/Lump Sum:



Minimum: $12.50 Maximum: $12.50

Qualifications:



Applicants must be UW-Madison Students currently enrolled for Summer Session or enrolled for Fall 2026.

Undergraduate students majoring in chemistry, biochemistry, and/or chemical engineering are preferred, but students with different majors and backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

Strong preference will be given to applicants who have completed a general chemistry course (Chem 103, 104, 108, and/or 109) or equivalent at UW-Madison (i.e. Chem 115/116) or at another institution.



Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:




Successful applicants will have an interest in chemistry, inventory management, and customer service to run a store smoothly and safely. Successful candidates will be able to work well alone and with a small team, communicating with other student workers and staff supervisors to develop proactive and reactive solutions to problems encountered in the storeroom. Successful candidates will demonstrate professionalism and willingness to learn as the semester develops.






Position Summary/Job Duties:




During the week, assistants will be primarily responsible for stocking but will also help with receiving shipments, maintaining backstock, and serving as a point of contact for researchers, grad-students, PIs, and TAs if they have questions.

Additionally, assistants will have additional responsibilities to clean the storeroom space and help manage inventory.






Physical Demands:




Standing for periods of time (3-6 hours) completing repetitive tasks, helping lift or moving objects weighing up to 50lbs.
