Description
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES
- Communicate with the Calender Operator to find out the plc settings for the mill or winder
- Prepare and start up the Extruder, Mill, and assist with threading the line
- Refeed rolls as instructed by the calendar operator
- Follow all relevant policies and procedures (Safety, 5S, and ARC policies)
- Provide instruction for co-workers in the correct operation of the extruder and mill
- Properly conduct quality tests and ensure proper use of quality equipment
- Keep the calendar operator informed if any of the quality tests are out of specification
- Prepare all packaging materials for the orders according to the packaging instructions in CoAgo
- Package finished rolls at the Winder according to CoAgo packaging instructions
- Correctly enter QC and production data into CoAgo
- Properly label and record scrap and refeed rolls
- Keep work area(s) orderly and clean according to 5s standards
- Take care of the edge trims as well as any scrap rolls in the winder area
- If the line is down clean the mill and winder area as well as the extruder hopper or hoppers
Requirements
EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- High School diploma/General Equivalency diploma preferred
JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work a 12 hour shift
- Positive attitude, flexibility
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds regularly
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately (metric and standard)
- Basic math skills
- General computer knowledge
- High safety and cleanliness standards
- Good communication skills within the department as well as with other departments
- Ability to teach and coach fellow team members
- Dependability on a daily basis
