Job Description

JOB SUMMARY


This role works throughout the facility on various equipment and systems that have already been installed or that we may be newly integrating. This role works independently, by work order, or assigned task and occasionally is assigned as a leader of a repair team.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Routine servicing of machine tools: manual and CNC mills and lathes, air compressors and vacuum pumps, dust collectors, HVAC units, processing, and cooling systems
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Performs preventive maintenance, routine, and emergency repairs to same
  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components
  • Interprets engineering drawings and equipment manuals related to equipment
  • Performs replacement of major and minor parts, components, or entire systems
  • Performs overhauls on major equipment components
  • Provides recommendations regarding equipment maintenance and repair
  • Ability to be frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and machinery
  • Ability to be exposed to noise levels that are generally moderate; the office area is quiet, and some areas of the machine shop are loud
  • Ability to be exposed to non-toxic graphite dust, which is classified as a nuisance dust
  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to work overtime and a combination of weekdays and weekends depending on business need
  • Ability to use good judgment and initiative in resolving complex nonstandard problems and developing recommendations
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

2 years of technical training and 3 – 5 years of maintenance experience; or 5 – 10 years of work experience

Knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems

High level mechanical aptitude

Basic electrical knowledge, using voltmeter, and amp meter

Shop math knowledge and aptitude

Aptitude for using Microsoft Office and Manufacturing Software
