 2026 Summer Learning Academy Educator


 


This position is only open to current Wilson County Schools Employees.


 


 


JOB GOAL


Focus on targeting learning loss or gaps while providing instructional support for identified Summer Learning students.


 


REPORTS TO Interventionist Coordinator and Federal Programs Supervisor


FLSA STATUS Non-Exempt


SCHEDULE 7.5 hour work day


 


Training Dates: 



  • Tuesday, May 26, 2026- Workday 

  • Wednesday, May 27, 2026 – Training and Workday

  • Thursday, May 28, 2026 – Workday / Open House 


Summer Sessions:



  • Monday, June 1, 2026 – Thursday, June 25, 2026


 


Educators will be expected to commit to the entire summer program.





ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS


 


During the Summer Camps:



  • Use curriculum materials provided by the district

  • Complete district-provided training

  • Track attendance

  • Clock in and out on WCS time management system

  • Organize, maintain, and account for supplies for materials

  • Maintain classroom management

  • Ensure health protocols are implemented to maintain student safety

  • Implement the summer camp curriculum with fidelity

  • Perform duties as assigned by site coordinator and/or district policies

  • Maintain accurate records as required for Summer Learning Camps

  • Ensure that the summer learning site is maintained and left in good order

  • Manage distribution and collection of materials for Summer Learning

PHYSICAL DEMANDS


This job may require lifting or carrying of objects that exceed fifty (50) pounds, with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to twenty-five (25) pounds. Other physical demands that may be required are as follows: pushing and/or pulling, stooping and/or kneeling, reaching and/or handling, talking, hearing, seeing, and climbing.


 


WORK CONDITIONS


The role requires a normal working environment, with indoor and outdoor activities.
