  • This position's home location is in the Islandia office, and travels to Good Samaritan (W. Islip) and St. Charles (Port Jefferson) for Surgery
  • Interviewing, examining, and diagnosing patients’ illnesses
  • Ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
  • Prescribing medications and suggesting lifestyle changes
  • Suturing skills, first assisting in the OR
  • Reviewing and maintaining patients’ medical histories and records and recording patients’ progress
  • Educating and counseling patients and their families
  • Researching the latest treatments, innovations, advances and trends in the bariatric field
  • Clinical training experience and the willingness to complete 100 hours of continuing education every two years to maintain certification
  • A state license to practice Medicine
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Detail oriented with good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to treat patients with compassion and empathy
  • State Licensing
  • Board Certified in Physician Assistant 
  • ACLS & BLS Certification
  • Infectious Disease Certified
  • Master's Degree in Physician Assistant
  • Reliable Transportation and Ability to Travel to Required Locations
