Job Description

POSITION PURPOSE:

The Blending Operator is responsible for safely and efficiently executing product blending operations while supporting and coordinating daily activities of the blending team. This role ensures product quality by monitoring blending processes, documenting material usage, and maintaining accurate records in compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements. The Blending Operator plays a key role in receiving and handling bulk chemicals, maintaining an organized work environment, and upholding all safety protocols. Additionally, this position supports continuous improvement efforts by assisting in troubleshooting and resolving quality issues, while demonstrating strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

 

DUTIES, TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Blends products and works with blending team to complete assigned blending duties.
  • Responsible for monitoring blending quality and working with blending team to efficiently finish tasks and store materials as needed.
  • Ensures all requirements for maintaining a safe workplace are followed (PPE, rules & policies, applicable government regulations, etc.)
  • Ensures all applicable paperwork/documentation is accurately completed.
  • Documents chemical raw material usage/lot numbers on Batch sheets
  • Receives Bulk Chemicals and raw materials, including tanker truck, rail car, and barge
  • Assists in investigation of out-of-specification materials
  • Maintains Blending area in an orderly condition
  • Other duties as assigned

 

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:

  • Merchant Mariner Document license is required for Barge unloading
  • High School diploma or GED or 1-3 years of relevant experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Must be a certified forklift operator
  • Proficient PC skills, including MS Word and MS Excel
  • Experience leading and managing others
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with co-workers
  • Ability to effectively handle group and individual work assignments 
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Understanding of written instructions and ability to complete assignments efficiently
  • Good judgment and decision making
