Job Description

General Description: This seasonal position supports program compliance and administrative oversight for the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The Monitor ensures participating partner sites adhere to all federal, state and organizational requirements while supporting the effective delivery of program services under the San Antonio Food Bank (SAFB) throughout San Antonio, New Braunfels, and rural service areas. The term of this season is May 27 to August 7th.

 

Essential Functions:

  • Review and assess administrative compliance for required program documentation, including site applications, site files, daily meal counts, and site reviews.
  • Ensure the site operations comply in accordance with SAFB, Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA), United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), and Feeding America regulations and guidelines.
  • Assists in training site staff and partners to ensure understanding and adherence to program requirements.
  • Conduct routine monitoring visits to evaluate customer service, food safety, and meal distribution processes for compliance.
  • Utilize personal mobile device to manage site communications, including calls, texts, and emails during scheduled working hours.
  • Identify and escalate unresolved or critical issues to the Manager, Children’s Menu Programs.
  • Provide ongoing technical assistance and support to program sites as needed.
  • Monitor site performance to ensure implementation of corrective actions and technical guidance.
  • Promote awareness and utilization of eligible SAFB programs, including nutrition education, federal assistance programs, and food distribution services.
  • Ensure accurate, timely completion of all required reports and program deliverables.
  • Support rural non-congregate meal distribution events across southwest Texas as needed, which may require early morning departures and extended workdays; responsible for completing all required monitoring documentation (transportation provided).
  • Other duties as assigned.
