Job Description

Job Title: Painter 

Employee Type: Full Time, Hourly

Reports to: Processing Manager 

Job Location: Wichita, KS, USA

Shifts Available: 3rd Shift: Monday - Friday; 10:00pm - 6:30am

Training Shift: Must be able to train on 1st or 2nd Shift

Pay range: $21.00 - $25.00 plus shift differential; hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Experience: 3+ years’ experience with application of aerospace primer, fuel cell, and top coat 

 Job Duties 

  • Shoot primers and topcoats to Mil specs on multiple surface types
  • Mix paints per manufactures specs
  • Preparation of parts prior to painting including masking, sanding, and cleaning
  • Complete workflow documentation thoroughly and properly as required
  • Inspection: Knowledge of the expected response and appearance of the material being painted 
  • Clean and repair paint equipment
  • Touch-up parts as needed
  • Wear proper safety equipment (PPE) and follow safety procedures at all times
  • Keep work area clean 

Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience with application of aerospace primer, fuel cell, and top coat
  • Understanding of aerospace Mil specs & ability to understand work order instructions/requirements
  • Ability to comprehend and implement written directions as necessary
  • Dependable, team-oriented, and good communication skills
  • Previous experience in aerospace painting environment required
  • Ability to follow all safety requirements and wear appropriate PPE while performing job functions
  • Must be self-motivated and produce quality work
  • Excellent attendance and positive attitude is required 
  • Willingness to learn and help in other areas if needed
  • High School diploma or equivalent required

  • Must be 18 years of age

Working Conditions: 

  • Some overtime may be required
  • Ability to regularly and frequently lift 50 pounds
  • Will be exposed to constant activity that requires intermittent standing, bending, crouching, twisting, pushing, pulling, lifting, moving, carrying light and heavy loads, and climbing stairs and ladders. Requires manual dexterity sufficient to operate small power tools and other equipment 
  • Must be able to properly wear full face respirator and pass spirometry & respirator fit testing requirements
