Program Chair of the Doctor of Education (Ed.D) Program


Jacksonville State University’s College of Education and Professional Studies is seeking to hire a scholar for an Associate or Full Professor in the Professional Counseling and Leadership Department.


The College of Education and Professional Studies at Jacksonville State University invites applications for the position of Associate or Full Professor of Education. The Associate/Full Professor of Education and Program chair of the Doctor of Education (EdD) Program provides academic leadership, administrative oversight, and strategic direction for the doctoral program within the College of Education and Professional Studies. The program chair ensures high‑quality instruction, scholarly excellence, and robust student support across the program. This position works collaboratively with faculty, staff, and university partners to maintain program integrity, meet accreditation expectations, support dissertation completion, and promote continuous program improvement.


This position requires the following:



  • Doctorate degree in education, higher education, education studies, counseling, or a related field.


Preference will be given to candidates who possess the following:



  • Experience in supervising student research

  • Experience in teaching graduate courses

  • Experience in supervising faculty
