| Position Summary | The Access Services Department in the University of New Mexico College of University Libraries & Learning Sciences (CULLS) seeks motivated and highly engaged student employees interested in a challenging and dynamic customer service work environment. Library Assistants are the first point of contact most patrons have with the University Libraries system and take care of most of the day-to-day duties associated with library operations. Student positions may be based in Centennial Science & Engineering Library, the Fine Arts & Design Library, or Zimmerman Library. Under direct supervision, Library Assistants work with University Libraries staff and student employees in a team environment to:
Successful applicants will have the opportunity for progressively independent work and increased responsibility within a collegial team environment. Benefits of this position include: learning research skills that support college academic work; receiving guidance and mentoring from library staff; and developing professional skills such as interpersonal communication, critical thinking, and problem-solving. CULLS student employees are employed on a term basis for the current academic year. Student employees may be asked to work nights and/or weekends.
