Summary:



The Laboratory Estimator plays a critical role in supporting OnePointe Solutions’ mission to deliver high-quality, cost-effective laboratory furniture and facility solutions. This position is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive estimates for laboratory construction and outfitting projects, including GMP manufacturing spaces, chemical R&D labs, BSL labs, vivariums, and cleanrooms.



 



Key Responsibilities:




  • Develop detailed cost estimates for laboratory furniture, casework, countertops, fume hoods, and accessories.

  • Interpret architectural drawings, lab layouts, and specifications to determine scope and pricing.

  • Collaborate with sales, design, and project management teams to ensure alignment on project requirements.

  • Create and maintain “Scope of Work” documents outlining materials, labor, and installation costs.

  • Perform quantity takeoffs and product selections based on client needs and regulatory requirements.

  • Track and manage budgets throughout the project lifecycle, adjusting for changes and unforeseen costs.

  • Conduct site visits to assess conditions and identify potential challenges or cost impacts. (When Applicable)

  • Communicate with vendors and suppliers to obtain pricing and lead times.

  • Support bid preparation and proposal development for public and private sector clients.



 



Qualifications:




  • 3+ years of experience in estimating, preferably in laboratory, healthcare, or technical construction environments.

  • Strong understanding of lab furniture systems, materials, and regulatory standards (GMP, BSL, etc.).

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and estimating software (e.g., Bluebeam, AutoCAD, or similar).

  • Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills.

  • Strong communication and collaboration abilities.

  • Experience with cost tracking and budget management.



 



Preferred Education & Certifications:




  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Engineering, Architecture, or related field (preferred but not required).

  • Certification from ASPE (American Society of Professional Estimators) or similar is a plus.
