Purpose Statement
The job of Teacher is done for the purpose/s of providing support to the instructional process by serving as a teacher with specific responsibility for supervising students within the classroom and other assigned areas; developing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with other teachers, other professional staff, and administrators in addressing instructional and/or classroom issues; and responding to a wide range of inquiries from students' parents or guardians regarding instructional program and student progress. This job reports to Principal.

Essential Functions

• Meets and instructs assigned classes in building and at the times performs in other buildings.
• Plans a program of study that, as much as possible, meets the individual needs, interests, and abilities of the students.
• Creates a classroom environment that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
• Encourages students to set and maintain standards of classroom behavior.
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals and � in harmony with the goals � establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units, projects and the like to communicate these objectives of students.
• Employs a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media, consistent with the physical limitations of the location provided and the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
• Arranges and sets up classrooms.
• Maintains inventory of instruments and equipment.
• Plans and directs performances.
• Coordinates schedules with building staff.
• Travels between buildings when needed.

Education: Bachelors from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to teaching assignment.

Wyoming PTSB Teaching Certification for K-8 Music

*Must be eligible for Wyoming teaching certificate endorsed in Music.
