Job Description

Global Business Director (Drug Delivery)

Croda is a global leader in delivering high‑purity excipients, world‑class vaccine adjuvants, and innovative
lipid systems to support novel therapeutic delivery. We partner with customers
from early research to commercialisation, solving complex formulation and
delivery challenges to make medicines safer, more effective, and more
sustainable.

We are now looking to recruit a Global Business Director to lead our
Drug Delivery platform as we expand our LNP delivery business across multiple
market areas.

Reporting to our Vice President of Pharma Solutions, this individual
will be accountable for the development and profitability of the Drug Delivery
portfolio and will lead a team of Marketing, Portfolio Management, and Project
Management professionals to deliver against ambitious commercial targets,
positioning Croda as a supplier of choice in the Drug Delivery market.

Who we're looking for:

  • Extensive commercial leadership experience in the pharmaceutical sector with a firm understanding of customer and competitor behaviour.
  • Strong technical background in the pharma ingredients sector, particularly in Drug Delivery Technologies
  • A values driven leader with a background in coaching and developing high performing teams and fostering a culture of inclusion.
  • High level of strategic thinking to build, implement, and deliver a robust business strategy within Drug Delivery.
  • Strong business and commercial acumen with a track record of driving organic growth in highly competitive pharma markets.
  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to connect global teams and businesses to achieve results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define, implement, and communicate the commercial strategy for Drug Delivery, aligned with the wider Pharma Solutions and Life Sciences business strategy.
  • Influence across regional businesses to ensure teams achieve deliverables through indirect line responsibility.
  • Provide input into business strategy and activities including business performance, operations, alliances, and M&A opportunities.
  • Establish high level contacts with key partners globally, ensuring a broad range of senior level relationships across disciplines and positioning Croda as a strategic resource.
  • Maintain an understanding of competitor activity and its impact on strategy delivery, implementing actions that ensure continued growth.
  • As commercial lead for the Alabaster and Lamar sites, provide commercial input and support the Site Director and management team to update the site strategy and meet the needs of global and regional organisations.
  • Work with the site leadership team to prepare a long range investment plan and contribute to capex planning as part of the annual budget process.
  • Take commercial responsibility for production performance on the site, driving commercially justified projects and working with site management teams to analyse and improve profitability.
  • Provide commercial insight and collaborate with site supply chain teams, acting as a point of arbitration regarding key decisions and customer interactions.
  • Ensure consistency with group standards in relation to CSR, Risk, and SHE management.
  • Coach and develop a high performing team and foster a culture of inclusion and continuous improvement in all areas.
