Job Description

  1. SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES




  • Quality Assurance Operations

  • Maintain and support food safety and quality systems, including product and raw material specifications

  • Perform routine inspections of production processes, records, and activities for compliance and accuracy

  • Conduct packaging inspections upon receipt and hold product inspections as required

  • Support environmental monitoring and deep cleaning inspections

  • Manage calibration and verification programs (e.g., scales, magnets)

  • Maintain QA documentation, including records, forms, and trend analysis

  • Organize QA paperwork and maintain document control

  • Support internal and external audits (GMP, HACCP, FSSC22000, customer audits)

  • Participate in maintaining GFSI certification (FSSC22000 or equivalent)

  • Conduct internal audits and follow up on corrective and preventive actions (CAPA)

  • Report non-conformances and ensure timely resolution

  • Record and manage interactions with regulatory agencies (FDA, USDA, IDPH, local health departments)

  • Support mock recalls and product withdrawal activities

  • Support development, updates, and implementation of SOPs and SSOPs

  • Train employees on GMP, CCPs, and quality procedures

  • Assist departments with SOP updates and process improvements

  • Provide QA-related training and support across departments

  • Promote food safety awareness throughout the facility

  • Support internal and external laboratory operations

  • Serve as backup for laboratory technician duties when needed

  • Ensure laboratory data is accurate, validated, and properly documented

  • Assist in evaluating new laboratory equipment and procedures

  • Manage external sample submissions and documentation

  • Support supplier qualification and documentation management

  • Assist in supplier audits and maintaining approved supplier lists

  • Investigate customer complaints and non-conformances

  • Support corrective action implementation (CARs)

  • Assist in finished product release and shipment approval

  • Other duties as assigned
