PROFILE OF A LIBERTY HILL EDUCATOR
Liberty Hill ISD Educators are compassionate leaders, effective collaborators, adaptable thinkers,
determined problem-solvers, and skilled communicators.
PRIMARY PURPOSE
Provide identified students with targeted learning activities and experiences to
ensure academic achievement and improve academic success.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certification
● Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
● Valid Texas Teacher Certificate with required endorsements.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
● Knowledge of Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for assigned areas.
● Knowledge of curriculum design, implementation, evaluation, and refinement.
● Knowledge of effective instruction and evaluation methodologies.
● Knowledge of continuous improvement processes.
● Skill in using technology as a learning tool in all content areas.
● Skill in engaging others in collective inquiry and problem solving.
● Skill in collecting, analyzing, and using data to support student learning.
● Skill in communicating effectively, both verbally and in writing.
● Ability to collaborate with colleagues to enhance instructional practices.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Instructional Management
● Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for services in individual, and/or
small group settings.
● Uses identified needs to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the
district's content standards. Establishes clear objectives for all lessons, units and projects
using formal and informal assessment data obtained from students.
● Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and
the needs and capabilities of the individuals or student groups involved.
● Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that is conducive
to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of the students.
Classroom responsibilities
● Provides written evidence of preparation upon request of immediate supervisor.
● Takes all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials,
and facilities.
● Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy,
administrative guidelines, or specific program requirements.
● Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and
conduct, and, for the classroom, develops reasonable rules of classroom behavior and
procedure, and maintains order in the classroom.
● Is available to students and parents for education related purposes outside the instructional
day when required or requested to do so under reasonable terms.
● Conducts or participates in needed parent conferences and telephone conferences.
Assessment responsibilities
● Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services, to plan
instruction, and/or to assist staff members in learning various assessment techniques.
Assess the accomplishments of students on a regular basis and provide progress reports
as required.
● Collaborates, as needed, with appropriate district/campus personnel regarding students
who may need specialized interventions.
Professional Development responsibilities
● Strives to maintain and improve professional competence through professional
development activities.
● Participates in discussions or activities focused on using research to improve.
● Participates in staff development focused on delivery of intervention and assessment.
● Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Campus Principal, Instructional Coach, or
Student Support Staff as needed.

MENTAL/PHYSICAL & ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
● Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including personal computer and
peripherals.
● Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
● Motion: Repetitive hand motions, frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional
reaching.
● Lifting: Regular lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds); may require occasional heavy
lifting (45 pounds or more) and positioning of students with physical disabilities, control
behavior through physical restraint, assist non-ambulatory students, and lift and move
adaptive and other classroom equipment.
● Environment: Work inside; frequent district-wide travel; occasional statewide travel.
● Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions; maintain emotional control under
stress; work occasional prolonged or irregular hours; travel to school district buildings and
professional meetings as required.
