As a Project Manager at Shook Construction, you’ll play a vital role in shaping the infrastructure that helps communities thrive. Project Managers provide overall leadership and direction for one or more projects, setting clear objectives, guiding policies, and fostering strong relationships with clients. You’ll help projects run safely, profitably, and to the highest quality standards as you ensure client satisfaction. In addition, you’ll mentor and develop Project Engineers.

What You’ll Do



Operational Excellence




  • Create and manage the project schedule.

  • Participate in all preconstruction services.

  • Manage and collaborate with critical trade partners.

  • Drive trade partner and purchase agreement negotiations.

  • Lead a project-dedicated staff, establishing roles and expectations.

  • Maintain positive relationships with clients, trade partners, and vendors.

  • Develop project cost structure and handle all monthly billing tied to completed work.

  • Help develop and execute a project-specific safety plan.

  • Develop and implement a quality control plan.

  • Manage procurement process, including labor, equipment, materials, and trade partners.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial forecasting.

  • Lead the growth and development of project team members, including conducting performance reviews.



Physical and Work Expectations




  • Driving to job sites, offices, client locations, and other work-related sites.

  • Light or low amount of physical exertion.

  • Overtime work as assigned.

  • Travel overnight as required.

  • Ability to work in environments that may be cold, hot, dusty, or loud.

  • Compliance with all company policies and procedures, including safety.



What You’ll Bring




  • 5-10 years of construction experience.

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or similar. Or equivalent experience.

  • Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving abilities.

  • Clear, concise communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to build strong client relationships.

  • Willingness to represent Shook at career fairs and recruitment events.

  • Commitment to staying current with emerging technologies (BIM, 3D modeling, pipe detailing, etc.).

  • Experience participating in labor negotiations is a plus.

  • Membership in professional and community organizations is a plus.



Computer Skills




  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Outlook required.

  • Primavera/Oracle scheduling, Sage Timberline, AutoCAD, and Viewpoint are a plus.



Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations




  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record. Motor vehicle report required.

  • LEED, PE, and ICRA/Healthcare Construction Certificates are a plus.
