Job Description

PURPOSE  

Primary responsibilities of the Shipping Clerk are to insure and execute planning, preparation, packaging, loading, timely shipment and damage of materials, parts and machines, etc. on behalf of Imaging Business Machines, LLC 

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for the packaging of materials, parts and machines for shipment in a timely manner (cleans, marks, verifies serial #'s, utilizes chemical foam packaging system, etc   )

• Prepares packaged materials for shipment in a timely manner within prescribed methods including shipping software, data entry, and manually generated shipping documents

• Insure all urgent materials are processed, packaged and shipped within dictated methods

• Responsible for the loading of out-bound and un-load in-bound materials, requiring at times, heavy lifting and/or the utilization of equipment such as hand trucks, pallet jacks and fork lifts

• Supports all other departments with shipping questions, preparations and needs

• Plans and executes Assembly/Construction of shipping containers, pallets, skids, etc...utilizing equipment such as power tools and foam packaging systems as needed

• Maintains and monitors a list of all shipping supplies insuring no difficiencies occur to meet all shipping needs

• Maintains and updates accurate shipping data in production schedule (dates, serial numbers, shipping documents, etc...)

• Generates and/or amends all required documents, labels, etc. for both domestic and international shipments

• Responsible for picking and pulling of materials such as spare and consumable sales orders from controlled stocking area

• Maintains and reviews records of all shipments leaving the facility

• Provides accurate and timely reports as required

• All other duties deemed necessary by the Inventory Control Manager.

 

PREFERRED SKILLS, QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• High School Diploma or equivalent

• Preferred 2 plus years experience in shipping/receiving

• Computer and Software knowledge and skills including data entry (Starship Shipping software preferred)

• Use of power tools and equipment for building containers; fork lift operation experience/ability; valid drivers license and good driving record
