Description

•        Operate a tape edge machine to stitch and bind the edges of mattresses
•        Align mattress panels and borders accurately before sewing
•        Ensure all stitches are even, strong, and meet company quality standards
•        Adjust machine settings (speed, tension, thread) for different mattress models
•        Perform routine machine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs
•        Inspect finished mattresses to ensure quality and consistency
•        Identify and report defects or machine issues to supervisors
•        Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work area
•       Meet daily production targets while minimizing material waste
•     Work closely with other production team members to ensure smooth workflow

Requirements

•    Proven experience as a tape edge operator (mattress industry experience preferred)
•    Knowledge of tape edge machine operation, adjustment, and basic maintenance
•    Skilled in adjusting machine settings to achieve desired stitch length and tension
•    Ability to work with precision and maintain consistent quality under production deadlines
•    Good hand–eye coordination and physical stamina for repetitive tasks, stand for long periods and lift       heavy materials up to 50 lbs.
•    Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
•    Team player with good communication skills
•    Ability to follow technical instructions and supervisor guidance
•    Bi-lingual in Spanish/English preferred; ability to speak, read, and write in English or Spanish required

Education:

High school diploma or GED
