Make an impact with our Valuations team as a Senior Associate. This diverse team of professionals works with clients on a wide range of business disputes and irregularities and applies qualitative techniques to accurately measure the value of their operations. As a trusted advisor, you’ll provide independent and reliable business valuations that empower clients to advance their strategic goals and make value-driven business decisions with confidence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in valuation engagement planning and organization including initial correspondence, issue identification and implementation of agreed methodologies;
  • Assist in the preparation of technical analysis and reports for business valuation, purchase price allocations, intellectual property valuations, and impairment analysis;
  • Build and prepare technical analysis such as projections, forecasts and/or models in Excel;
  • Conduct industry and market research, prepare and analyze information to support conclusions;
  • Coordinate project logistics with clients and other stakeholders consistent with project plans;
  • Prepare correspondence, memos, reports, and presentations outlining findings from the valuation analysis;
  • Provide valuation support to MNP’s assurance teams locally and nationally;
  • Effectively interact with management, stakeholders, legal counsel and financial advisors;
  • Network and take a leadership role in the local professional and business community while raising awareness of MNP and looking for new business development opportunities;
  • Develop, coach, and train team members towards professional and personal development;
  • Promote regular attendance, a balanced lifestyle and a high standard of team wellness.

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business with a specialization in accounting;
  • Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation, either in progress or designated;
  • Chartered Business Valuator (CBV) designation, or willingness to obtain the designation;
  • 2 to 3 years of experience at a professional services firm, with preference given to those with experience in valuation, advisory or public company assurance roles;
  • Experience with the review and preparation of impairment tests, purchase price allocations, and valuation as it relates to financial reporting requirements under IFRS;
  • Strong computer literacy including effective working skills in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint;
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
