Overhead Crane Field Welder/ Fabricator

Position Summary

Ergonomic Solutions Inc./ Rhino Tool House

Location: Wichita, Kansas

Ergonomic Solutions, Inc. is seeking a skilled Field Welder / Fabricator to support the installation and repair of overhead cranes and structural systems. This role combines hands-on welding and fabrication with mechanical troubleshooting and field service work in active industrial environments.This is a high-impact, field-based position with direct customer interaction and a strong emphasis on safety, quality, and problem-solving.

Key Responsibilities

    Install, repair, and modify overhead cranes, hoists, and supporting structures at customer facilities

    Perform structural welding and fabrication using stick, MIG, and TIG processes

    Troubleshoot mechanical and structural issues and determine root causes

    Execute preventative maintenance and inspections on crane and hoist systems

    Interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and technical specifications

    Respond to service calls, including occasional after-hours and weekend work

    Complete service documentation (work orders, inspection reports)

    Communicate clearly with customers and internal teams on scope, progress, and findings

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

    2+ years of experience in structural welding, fabrication, or industrial field work

    Proficiency in multiple welding processes (stick, MIG, TIG)

    Ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols

    Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability

    Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

    Ability to lift 50-75 lbs and work at heights

Preferred Qualifications

    Experience working with overhead cranes or hoists

    Familiarity with AWS welding standards and industrial safety regulations (OSHA, ANSI, CMAA)

    Previous field service or construction experience

Work Environment & Expectations

    Field-based role working in active industrial and construction environments

    Standard schedule is 40 hours/week with overtime and on-call work as needed

    Travel required, including occasional overnight stays

    Work may include heights, confined spaces, and varying weather conditions
